    Summary of Experience:

1982 - 2002 Automatic Data Processing Dealer Services * Senior Systems Analyst

Responsible for the day to day management of 12 division computer systems and consultant to 21 remote regional systems throughout the U.S. & Canada. These responsibilities consisted of the following:

  • Monitored system activity and tuning system parameters for optimum performance, configuring communications with other platforms/networks, configuring/managing system security, & maintaining current release & patch levels.
  • Provided user support and resolve system problems.
  • Built, tuned, configured and upgraded operating systems.
  • Evaluated system performance and reported to management.
  • Supported the installation, planning & implantation for hardware or application program requirements & coordinated the corresponding system software changes/additions.
  • Provided direct support for and conducts system disaster recovery testing as required.
  • Defined development tools & procedures for daily operational support.
  • Supported application activities that require specialized system programming.
  • Performed software product evaluations, including planning, installation, testing, and technical support for the applications programming and/or the computer operations staff.
  • Provided consultation of technique & system methods for applications design.
  • Created & maintained web reports created from the Core Pick Systems Database.
  • Designed and created specialized Web applications using CGI Perl scripts.

In early 1987 designed, wrote and implemented a system to provide data sharing from Core Pick systems to provide automated data transfers from division to regional databases. This was achieved before many such systems became available for commercial use. Further merits to this system were the ability of the software to convert the data to adapt to many different database formats. Portions of this system continue in use today.

To provide better security, designed a fully Menuized system to replace the old command line method. To improve functionality, designed and created an automated reports creator and background processing system.

Responsible for the development of the Pick Systems portion of the interconnecting software to provide data transfer from Pick Core Systems to Oracle based systems. During this time designed the phone/data distribution layout for our new facility & devised a computer program to maintain it. Responsible for the operation & maintenance of the Core Pick systems. Upgraded and installed over 19 different operating system revisions on 9 different platforms, including IBM, Mac Donnel Douglas, Microdata, Data General, & Motorola. Also setup and developed interconnecting communications systems both internally and to remote sites throughout the U.S. and Canada. (more->)
